New Greenhouse Provides Organic Vegetables for KIAB School Lunches
Kindness In A Box Greenhouse
Thanks to a grant from the Dorothea Haus Ross Foundation, Kindness In A Box has a fully operational greenhouse. Organic vegetables are grown and the students at the Kacllaraccay School across the road from the Kindess Center are the greenhouse "farmers". The vegetables are harvested and used in the KIAB School Lunch Program. The abundance vegetables are sold to local villagers and profits are used to maintain the greenhouse.
Learning about growing organic vegetables from the Department of Agriculture in Urubamba.
"It's been ten years since I hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and saw the impoverished, indigenous Quechua people. I knew immediately that I would help them make a better life for themselves and their children. I continue to be humbled by the Quechua people, their grace and dignity. They are the guardians of ancient cultures and traditions and like all of us, only want what is best for themselves and their children"..... Lynda Burgman, Founder-Kindness In A Box
